Originally introduced in the mid 1990’s, flowable composites have undergone transformations and formulation changes. Originally described as runny composites with questionable uses, flowables soon found their way into many bonding procedures.Flowables are simply a low-viscosity composite with less filler than universal composites. They are more flexible than traditional composites. This made them the material of choice for abfraction, erosion and class V restorations.Flowables, once thought to be a passing fad, have become a versatile workhorse in restorative dentistry. |
