According to the American Cancer Society, almost half a million cases of oral cancer are diagnosed worldwide each year. In the United States alone, there were over 58,000 cases of oral cancer, with over 12,000 deaths in 2024. Unlike other cancers, where the annual rate of the disease is decreasing, the rate of oral cancer is increasing at a rate of about 1% each year. Survivors often experience problems such as facial disfigurement, eating and speaking difficulties, and more. The key to survival and minimizing the effects of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy is to identify oral cancers at their earliest stages, before it spreads throughout the head and neck region or metastasizes throughout the body.

Pushing the Envelope: Direct and Indirect Posterior Solutions with Composite
Presenter: Dr. Lauren Rainey and Dr. Mauricio Watanabe CE Supporter: VOCO America
The science and technology built into dental composite resins is impressive, but rarely do practitioners (or patients) realize how versatile our materials really can be. Direct placement is the most common approach for composite, but by relying on the material science within, predictable indirect composite restorations can also be life-like, strong and long lasting. Join the co-presenters in this CE webinar as they review cases from North and South America as they compare and contrast uses of composite resin in their daily practice.

Dental Hygiene Treatment Planning: New and Amended CDT Procedure Codes for 2025
Presenter: Kathy S. Forbes, RDH, BS CE Supporter: VOCO America
More and more, dental hygienists are expected to select the most accurate CDT procedure codes for the medically necessary treatment they provide to patients. Since the ADA’s Code Maintenance Committee meets yearly, those procedures and their descriptors can either be amended, deleted, or stay the same. The CE webinar will discuss the changes (or not) and additions/deletions which came on January 1, 2025. Some of the new and updated dental procedure codes will include revisions and additions to implant maintenance procedures, long requested by hygienists. In addition, more and more caries management products are being developed and how to know which code is the most appropriate. And what procedure code for desiccation therapy? A total of 10 new codes, 8 revised codes and 2 deleted codes will be presented.

The combination of artificial intelligence (AI) and laser technology is revolutionizing the field of dentistry, providing clinicians with new diagnostics and treatment capabilities to combat the growing epidemic of periodontitis and peri-implantitis. Recent advances in AI, particularly in machine learning, can enhance traditional radiographs to provide critical information on tooth structure, bone levels and surrounding tissues for more accurate diagnosis and treatment planning recommendations.
Whether due to insufficient bone, medical contraindications, financial constraints, or patient preferences, single-tooth implants aren’t the solution for every case. That’s where fiber-reinforced bridges come in. To tell us all about the wonders of fiber-reinforced bridges is our guest, Dr. Marvin Chacon. With over 15 years of clinical dentistry experience, he obtained his Master's in Aesthetic Dentistry from King's College London in 2022. As a clinical trainer and speaker, he focuses on modern dental materials and innovative techniques under the "minimum Intervention" approach.
This CE webinar will provide the pearls for the participants to achieve a higher level of composite artistry with results that can seamlessly replicate the esthetics of natural teeth or even rival the beauty of porcelain restorations by utilizing fundamental learning concepts of blending, shaping and polishing anterior composites restorations that predictably emulates any human tooth morphology found in nature.
This CE webinar focuses on effective techniques for managing anterior implant aesthetics, specifically designed for general dentists. Often perceived as a complex procedure involving multiple specialists and numerous appointments, this webinar aims to simplify the approach, enabling general dentists to confidently handle these cases. Participants will gain insights into the entire process, covering fundamental principles for implant positioning, surgical guide fabrication, and various extraction techniques.
This CE webinar will discuss which criteria needs to be met such as optimal primary stability, correct 3D positioning, etc., during immediate implant placement in the anterior region. Additionally, the Dr. Rocha will discuss the creation of an immediate provisional restoration on the implant while respecting biological principles leading to preservation of the papillae, gingival volume, and recession prevention. A step-by-step case will be presented showcasing the use of a stratified composite resin for both the provisional restoration as well as the infrastructure.
This 2 hour dental infection control CE webinar will help provide dental professionals with principles and practices effective in reducing the spread of harmful pathogens to patients and team members in the dental practice.
Patients present to our offices almost daily with anterior teeth that need restorations, including ones that replace a portion of the tooth that is readily visible to the patient and others. In these cases, we can choose to restore the area with a direct or indirect restoration. Indirect restorations are managed often times by a ceramist, but direct restorations require a thorough knowledge of the material and the understanding of effective layering to achieve a restoration that blends in naturally with the sounding tooth structure. In this CE webinar, we will utilize a restorative material that simplifies the layering techniques to achieve an outstanding result.
One of the more challenging diagnostic efforts in dentistry is the assessment of the structural integrity of teeth and dental implants. Cracked teeth, deteriorating/fracturing restorations, loss of cement seal or loss of osseointegration are often hard to diagnose until the results are advanced or catastrophic. Quantitative Percussion Diagnostics (QPD) has been shown in over 28 peer reviewed studies in engineering and dental journals to be an accurate and reliable test for determining the structural wellness of teeth or implants.
