Description:
Scotchbond Universal Adhesive is a single-component, light-curing adhesive that can be used in self-etch or total-etch procedures. It also contains MDP and silane, which allows it to prime metal, silica-based ceramic and zirconia restorations. Addition of the optional dual-cure activator allows it to be used with dual- or self-cured composite materials and cements. Scotchbond Universal Adhesive is ethanol- and water-based and bonds to moist or dry tooth surfaces. Scotchbond Universal Adhesive is indicated for use in all direct and indirect bonding procedures, including composite fillings; core build-ups; cementation of crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, and veneers. The clinical procedure involves scrubbing the liquid into the tooth surface for 20 seconds, air-drying for five seconds, and light curing for 10 seconds. Scotchbond Universal Adhesive is available in 5 mL bottles and unit-doses. The intro kit evaluated contained one bottle of Scotchbond Universal, Adhesive a 3 mL syringe of etchant, brushes, mixing wells and instructions.
